Groundbreaking mental health study to be repeated 30 years later

May 15, 2013

The Ontario Child Health Study is being repeated!  The OCHS, conducted in 1983 and led by the late Dr. Dan Offord, found the key statistic that one in five children has some type of mental health problem. This was the first time that one in five figure had been determined with such comprehensive data – but this figure is also over 30 years old and has not been updated.  But now the 2014 OCHS has been funded by CIHR and will be lead by Drs. Michael Boyle and Kathy Georgiades, with the aim of including over 10,000 children across Ontario.
