The Autism Alliance of Canada and The Offord Centre
MacART has been working with the Autism Alliance of Canada for many years, striving towards the development of a National Autism Strategy (NAS). With the federal government’s commitment to making this strategy a reality, MacART and the Alliance continue to build a more coordinated approach to advance autism research. This has included collaborating on applications for developing a national data hub and a national Autism waitlist initiative. These programs would serve as building blocks of a Learning Health System for Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, facilitating multidisciplinary, multi-sector, and multi-jurisdictional data initiatives and health services and policy research for Autism that can be used to inform disability policy and increase the health and wellbeing of Autistic Canadians.

Children’s Healthcare Canada, UNICEF and the Offord Centre
The Advancing Youth Mental Health team is currently involved in a national study: the Canadian Longitudinal Health Study on Children and Youth (CHSCY). This work, which is conducted in concert with Statistics Canada, involves strategic collaborations with Children’s Healthcare Canada and UNICEF. These collaborations aim to foster the development, promotion, and execution of knowledge exchange initiatives. Moreover, the findings are expected to play a pivotal role in the implementation of effective policy by government and other organizations . These collaborations will help ensure findings will directly benefit all Canadian children and those who care for them.

Empowered Kids Ontario and The Offord Centre
Our McMaster Autism Research Team (MacART) at the Offord Centre has established a strong partnership with Empowered Kids Ontario (EKO) through important work evaluating virtual care services offered to children across Ontario. The team, led by Dr. Stelios Georgiades and Dr. Elyse Rosa, completed an evaluation which focused on the processes and outcomes of a variety of virtual care services provided to children and families by organizations across the province. The strong partnership our team has with EKO has been strengthened through this work and we will continue to pursue avenues for future collaboration.
