Training New Researchers

Part of the mission statement of the Offord Centre for Child Studies is a commitment to train future generations of researchers and scientists. The goal is to provide evidence-based understanding of children’s mental health problems and therapeutic strategies that will influence policy and practices within governments, institutions and society at large.

Opportunities are available for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdoctoral researchers.  One such opportunity is an undergraduate program at McMaster University – the Child Health Specialization of the Bachelor of Health Sciences Program – which utilizes existing expertise within the McMaster University and Hamilton communities, including the Offord Centre. Another is the Lawson Fellowship, a postdoctoral focusing on child and youth health and development.
